Charity fundraising 2019
Toolstation employees are keen fundraisers, coming up with ideas for activities to support our charity partner the RNLI. From raffles to bake sales, and mountain climbs to marathons - the team are always ready for a challenge to support a great cause!
In May 2019 we launched a nationwide initiative across the whole network of over 350 branches across the UK- The Lemon Challenge. For two weeks each store had a bucket of water with a lemon floating in it, the simple challenge was to balance a coin (20p or up) on the lemon to win a prize. All coins lost in the water were donated to the RNLI. Apparently a lot harder than it looks.
There have been other fundraising events taking place in 2019. Here are just some of them:
- Store Training Manager, Adam Tysoe recently completed his 200th marathon in Liverpool, this takes him to a total of 5,240 miles ran, raising over £180 in this event and counting
- Dawn Glazier, Regional Manager for Hampshire, took part in a skydive in March raising over £1,600 for the RNLI and Breast Cancer Care
- A team of 18 retail team members took part in a 5K Tough Mudder held at Franklin’s Gardens, Northampton Saints Rugby Ground in June, raising over £1,200 already with more to come
- The contact centre and head office host a number of themed days across the year; colleagues take part in fancy dress, games and challenges to fundraise.
This goes to show the impact that the Toolstation team is making in raising funds. Working together in stores and other business areas to make a huge difference to a charity that save lives at sea and encourage people to respect the water.
