What you'll do
Our business is growing - at a rate of knots. With another 60 new stores opening this year and a wave of impressive sales behind us we’re really bucking the trend in retail. Our Buying team is at the forefront of our success, driving sales and profitability through relentlessly identifying and implementing product, price and promotional opportunities. This growth means they’re busy – super busy -  and as a result an opportunity exists to join and lead a team of Buyers to determine strategies, to motivate, to coach, to prioritise and to build on our market-leading growth.

Leading and Developing. Providing direction and collaboration you will lead a team of Buyers to utilise skills and initiatives that in turn will deliver your vision to achieve. You’ll support the team to drive innovation and deliver solutions that drive robust buying decisions to maximise sales and optimise profitability

Drive and Motivation. Devising and delivering a retail strategy, ensuring optimal performance and over achievement. Coaching the team to ensure they work collaboratively, utilising initiative and sharing knowledge that delivers your vision and achieves all company and area KPIs

Building Relationships. A skilled and confident negotiator, confident working with suppliers and internal stakeholders. You encourage and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders across the business and work closely with suppliers to build business plans to ensure optimal return and exclusivity.

What you'll bring
Experience. Highly commercial, and experienced operating at a senior level within a complex commercial and customer centric environment. Ideally experienced in multi channel strategy and leadership you’ve a strong track record of leading a team to ensure optimal performance and over achievement. 

Leading. Exceptional leadership skills which help to develop and communicate a mission & vision that inspires and motivates colleagues to deliver

Commerciality. Makes timely, winning decisions to generate value. Holds a winning mentality.

Customer Centric. Puts the customer and colleague at the heart of what they do, creating and driving mutual value. Relentlessly focused on delivering service excellence and making things easy to connect customers and suppliers.
